LOYOLA FILM CIRCLE

The Loyola Film Circle (LFC) is the premier film organization of the Ateneo de Manila University which is a home to more than 500 of the most artistic and innovative film-enthusiast students of the university. Now on its 19th year, LFC continues to establish a film culture that promotes the art and the aesthetics of cinema. Furthermore, LFC persists on upholding its advocacy of artistic excellence and social discourse through film with numerous of events which develops culture and identity of our nation.

Under The Stars' goals are membership formation, film appreciation and film production.




Every February, people look forward to receiving flowers, going on dates, and getting serenaded. Couples get together, friends hang out as well as people who go about their life with little acknowledgement of the love-filled atmosphere.

Here in the Ateneo, there is one place where you get to see this all happen: Loyola Film Circle's Under The Stars.



Under The Stars is an open-to-all variety show held in one of the Ateneo’s major fields, bringing together friends, lovers, halamans, and everything in between for a night filled with films, music, food, and fun.

Food stalls are set up, mats are laid out, musicians and bands play their rocking sets. Aside from this, UTS will act as the culmination night for IsaPelikula participants and members of the Production Core as their short films will be present during the event itself to showcase their outputs created with much passion, emanating their individual identity and culture. The event will finish with the feature film of the year.





It is LFC’s ultimate display of film appreciation, with everyone flocking together to be part of this annual event. It’s certain that no one will be alone on this amazing night of creativity. Last year's Under the Stars was the biggest event in LFC history with 1,725 attendees.

It reaches out beyond the borders of the Ateneo, gathering people of all ages for one night to celebrate their love for film and each other. This project will definitely by a night to remember “under the stars”.

<p>Now on it's 7th year, Under the Stars is an evening event that celebrates film appreciation and production through its feature film and LFC-made short films. It is held in Ateneo’s BEL field, where it is free and open to all. During the event, there will be various performances and booths organized by the LFC for the crowds’ enjoyment, as well as booth merchandises and assorted concessionaires.</p>
<p>We want to be able to pool a group of people skilled enough to be an active and significant influence for each other’s personal development and genuine camaraderie. We also want to make UTS an avenue for community building and friendship across organizations through the love and appreciation for film, music, food, and fun.</p>In cultivation of one of the Core Competencies of the LFC, a feature film will be shown on the event itself. Aside from this, UTS will act as the culmination night for IsaPelikula participants and members of the Production Core as their short films will be present during the event itself to showcase their outputs created with much passion, emanating their individual identity and culture.

<p>There are a total of 15 2nd year to 4th year college students in the core team for this year’s UTS. Aside from that, we have at least 75 volunteers to help out with this project.</p>
<p>To pay for the equipment and needed materials to be used in the event and to be able to give the audience maximum experience.</p>
<p>We’ll start delivering in the last week of January.</p>
