The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) provides a diverse group of emerging student leaders with a scholarship for one semester of non-degree academic study at a U.S. college or university. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and aims to recruit participants from underrepresented, non-elite backgrounds, who have not had other opportunities to study in the United States. The search for tech-based solutions to save our seas is back! The Haquathon seeks individuals, groups, or organizations to create and pilot solutions that address coastal- and marine-related sustainability issues. Proposals may be a platform, software, hardware, or piece of equipment. Haquathon 2.0 (H20) is looking for solutions from the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Proposals must fall under one of the five themes: (i) climate change; (ii) illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; (iii) sustainable tourism; (iv) seatizen engagement; and (v) sustainable consumption and production.
“Bulan Merkado” an online platform developed by Mindanao Pride that features small and micro LGBTIQ+ entrepreneurs and service providers to promote their products and/or services and help them recuperate from the negative impacts of the pandemic.
