Philippines

We aim to bring color to the new school of Grade 1 & Nursery Aeta students in Pisapungan

In the Aeta communities of Capas Tarlac, the students of Sitio Pisapungan and Sitio Manalal cross rivers and mountains to attend classes in the neighboring community of Sitio Pilien. High water levels during rainy seasons and the long walking time makes it difficult and dangerous for the children, posing a risk to their lives. During typhoons, students are not able to attend school for weeks because the water level is too high for the children to cross the waters. With this, the communities have reached out to Project Liwanag PH.

Through consultations with Project Liwanag, Sitio Pisapungan has built an annex school of Sta. Juliana Elementary School in their community, completely endorsed by the Department of Education. With rehabilitated classrooms, the students now have an accessible and safe learning center. However, the reconstruction is not done. Works of Heart PH will be painting the classrooms at the end of September to make them more culturally oriented and conducive to learning. We wish to invite you to be part of the journey to help the children of Sitio Pisapungan and Sitio Manalal receive the quality education that they rightfully deserve.
