What is Benilde's Arts and Culture Cluster (BACC)?

Benilde's Arts and Culture Cluster (BACC) is comprised of the Theater Arts, Dance, Production Design, Music Production, Arts Management and Design Foundation programs of the School of Design and Arts at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Manila.

What is the Fund for Performance Art Initiatives (FPAI)?

The Fund for Performance Art Initiatives will be the first ever crowdfunding effort in the Philippines to support performance art produced under the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

This will be managed under Benilde's Arts and Culture Cluster (BACC) of the School of Design and Arts (SDA), spearheaded by the Arts Management students of Batch 115.

Thi​s initiative will provide funds needed to produce performance-based works in the visual arts, dance, theater, and other related disciplines. It aims to encourage Filipino artists to produce new work using contemporary inter-disciplinary expressions and media.

The Pilot Project: "BREATHLESS" by Ronnie Lazaro

BREATHLESS is a performance art piece by Ronnie Lazaro rooted in the ​artist's belief that death is everywhere, engulfing us. By incarnating death in this unique one-hour performance, Lazaro brings us beyond the image of loss into an experience of life

Who is Ronnie Lazaro?

Ronnie Lazaro is a professional actor for film, television, and theater, where he has received the recent Gawad ng Urian in 2009. Lazaro has taught and acted as moderator in workshops around the metro, and has been involved in a number of humanitarian projects in the Philippines. His versatility in acting extends to stage production where he has worked as an Artistic Director and Production Assistant. His Art direction in “Manila by Night/City after Dark” won the Best Production Design Award in 1981. A self-taught photographer, he has had a number of photo exhibits in Manila. His talent for self-expression not only attenuates to photography, but to performance art as well. Lazaro has been a part of “Bayang Ginigiliw” in May of 1996 where he was joined by several Filipino artists at Luneta Park to clean up the Philippine Map.

The performance is free and open to the general public. 

Rewards

Fifty (50) Donors who contribute Php 3,000 or more will receive one (1) catalogue documenting the performance and acknowledgement during the exhibition. Once this reward has been chosen, you will be added to the guest list for the event.

Please give BDO the reference number 91011120 when they ask for student number and kindly write “BACC per - (name of donor)” behind the deposit slip/check.

Step 4: Confirm your donation

Simply email or submit a scanned or xerox copy of the deposit slip to benildeartandculturecluster@benilde.edu.ph.

You will be issued an official receipt by the Department of Finance and will be given the option to receive a certificate of donation.

Step 5: Attend the performance

We are accepting donations through bank deposits from BDO (Banco De Oro).
Simply email or submit a scanned or xerox copy of the deposit slip to Benilde's Arts and Culture Cluster (BACC). You will be issued an official receipt by the Department of Finance and will be given the option to receive a certificate of donation.
Your donation will be used to cover the performance's production expenses (i.e. logistics, marketing, collaterals, props, etc.) as well as production and distribution of the catalogues.
We will push through with the performance and make do with what we were able to raise. This will affect the production but we will still honor Donor rewards.
The performance is free and open to the general public and will be held at the 6/F De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, School of Design and Arts, 950 Ocampo St, Malate, Manila, 1004 Metro Manila.
